This travel section thought you should know.
The president of the United States statement to Turkey today:
We strongly encourage Turkey to normalize its relations and reopen its border with Armenia, steps that will help bring peace, prosperity and cooperation to the Caucasus. Now, in the wake of the AKP’s resounding electoral victories, is the time for Ankara to make a bold opening toward Armenia.
We Turks do not feel any contempt or hatred towards Armenians…We only want peace and reconciliation..Faith

‘encourage’??? Turkey does not ‘obey’ every wish of the USA anymore. Only one who could benefit from opening the borders is Armenia. They will buy food from Turkey (if they have enough money).
Actually Turkey could open the border. It’s very simple. Armenia declares that she will no longer voice allegations about the so called genocide, and will take the diaspora under control.

WE have advised Bush not to enter Iraq. But did he listen? No. And who is the loser for that? Mr.Bush. So, whose advise would any reasonable person take? Ours.

    Case closed.

Edit: It is best when you know the spelling of the words you wish to talk about. Else you will look like an idiot. It’s Saddam, not Sadem. You can’t change added information either. What will you do about your own blunder, Ms.CaseClosed?

The Turkish nation states to Armenian:
    We strongly encourage Armenia
    1. to normalize its relations to Azeybaycan and give back occupied azeybaycan country called karabag.
    2. Stop baseless, artificial and designed problem which is known as so called ermenian genocide lies,
    3. Forget to realise “Great Armenia” dream…

And after that we can consider other issues…

  12. Mr Beemer on April 14th, 2009 2:07 am

Additional to that US also said…

“To reach this transcendent strategic objective, we hope Turkey will repeal Article 301 of the Penal Code, which restricts freedom of expression and has led to outlandish legal cases against private citizens and global figures such as Nobel Laureate Orhan Pamuk. We also hope Turkey will help make its own case with the EU by allowing the Ecumenical Patriarch’s religious school at Halki in Istanbul to reopen decades after it closed.”

EDIT: Thanks redcandy nice video. lol

This is interesting. All of a sudden Turkish borders became international concern?!?!?! There are many other borders around the globe that are closed due to possible conflict, did he say anything about those?!?!?!?

Maybe it is a push for a talk between the Turks and the Armenians. I am not sure how successful it will be, if such a talk is arranged in the light of the current stigma amongst the two nations, since one pushes for international recognition of a so-called genocide that happened in the midst of a revolutionary war between the Turks vs. the Ottomans and the rest of the colonizing powers.

I’m all for the idea of getting along with the Armenians. The only thing is that I don’t think I’d want to trust the guy who dragged America into a pointless war. His ideas always turn out to be the opposite of what he expects.
Here’s my evidence of Bush’s intelligence:

  15. ipek on April 23rd, 2009 6:58 am

I dont think it is good idea, because we can invade over there too quickly.Dont you scare from this idea?

  16. Irmak on April 23rd, 2009 3:25 pm

Hey we are talking about Bush, not someone who has IQ..We don’t care about America or Europe because they don’t care us too.

  17. Lady GOP on April 23rd, 2009 6:36 pm

I wish that Bush would read these comments that have been given by such unappreciative, no-nothing do-nothing Turks. I know Turkey isn’t stupid enough to take on the U.S. that’s a war they can’t win. They won’t have to open their borders to Armenia they will be nothing left of Turkey. I bet Gul is scared of Bush too. You will open the boarders watch.
